I shouldn’t have started this but because I have, then I must finish – soon.
Anyways, we left Clarksdale (a day too early as there was a festival starting that afternoon but just no time), headed down Highway 61 for a coffee stop at Vicksburg then onto Natchez via the Natchez Park Traceway (I’ve put the turn-off on the map as a marker because we headed away from our route then back again).
Accommodation – Bisland House Bed and Breakfast, have said plenty about this in the previous posts. Very nice, great food, great location, lovely hosts – an easy 4 out of 5.
Food – can’t leave out the Bisland House breakfasts but wouldn’t say anything else was special. We went to a couple of the recommended good eating places and unfortunately for Natchez the ratings aren’t too high – only a 2.5 out of 5.
Activities – there’s quite a bit to do in Natchez, if you like walking around and looking at antebellum houses and the like. It was a really pretty town and we enjoyed our relaxing time here – and a good, cheap carriage ride. A lot of history about the civil war and slavery. A 3 out of 5.
X Factor – very nice and pretty and historical but have we seen it all and go back? It was what we expected but not disappointing and a nice place to visit but only a 2 out of 5 because there is no real X Factor.
